DIED -- Mrs. POLLY ARMSTRONG, one of the pioneers of Jefferson Township, died January 4th., 1875, at the residence of her son Josiah, in the 75th. year of her age, after a lingering illness. Though not considered dangerous, she died quite suddenly. The deceased was a native of Westmoreland County, Maryland, and moved to this county with her father, George Strong, in the year 1815, and was soon after married to Mr. Isaac Armstrong, and settled upon the farm which was their permanent residence during their natural lives. The deceased was the mother of six children, all of whom survive her. She leaves a very large circle of relatives and acquaintances to mourn her loss.
